Background
The querent’s ex partner has been in a long-distance relationship with someone new for seven months. The querent is of the opinion that they never truly split up, and is angry that her ex has moved on.
They still talk, and occasionally visit with one another, which the querent sees almost as a continuation of their relationship. She claims to still love him and doesn’t want to give up on the possibility of a relationship.
Interpretation
The querent is the Sun, Lord 1, sitting in Cancer in House 11. She is also the Moon in Aries just inside the 10th House and Venus right at the end of Taurus in the 11th. Her partner/ex partner is Saturn, retrograde in Aquarius and just moving away from the 8th cusp further into the 7th House.
The Part of Marriage
The Arabic Part of Marriage is in Aries, meaning broadly the relationship can be described by Mars and the other significators’ relationships to it.
Who likes who and how much?
The receptions are telling – she really doesn’t seem to still love him as she claims. The Sun hates Saturn, the Moon hates Saturn and Venus is basically indifferent. Instead, she loves herself – her head, the Sun, is led by her heart, the Moon. The Moon in turn exalts the Sun, and dignified Venus exalts the Moon! This is a person who is angry at the ex, and certain she is in the right. A querent with a dignified Venus and so much love for herself is bound to wonder ‘why on earth does he want her, rather than me?’.
The Sun loathes Mars, the relationship, in its fall. Venus hates it too. The Moon, though, is in Aries – it loves Mars! This is the missing piece in why a woman who appears to despise an ex still ‘loves’ him. Emotionally, romantically, she wants what they had back.
Venus moves from dignity in Taurus to Gemini in a little under a degree – soon enough she’s not going to feel so certain about herself as a woman, nor will Venus continue exalting the Moon. It’s likely she’ll calm down a bit – she’ll still hate the man, but might become less certain overall. Another key, here is that Venus is conjunct Alcyone. It’s a regretful star, the main star of the Pleiades, known as ‘The Weeping Sisters’. The Pleiades are also associated with blindness – she’s not seeing things clearly now, but will be as Venus moves further away from Alcyone.
The ex boyfriend is a fairly different story – no confusion here. Saturn in domicile, retrograde to head further into his own House, House 7. In Aquarius, it hates the Sun and has very little interest in the querent or the relationship they had.
Verdict
This is an exceptionally unhealthy thing to pursue further. The querent resents a man who doesn’t feel anything romantic towards her. Desiring the relationship you used to have is not the same as wanting the one you’d have if it came back.
Result
The querent admitted that really, she was bothered that he was seeing someone new, and quite resented him for it. She was glad to hear he wasn’t the best person to pine after, and said she would try to move forward.
