Horary Astrology – How will I do in my exams?

Context

The querent, a young person sitting a series of intense exams, the result of which will have a major impact on their future at university and eventual career.

The question is about their exams in general, so an overall judgment can be given – an average.

Interpretation

Significators, Dignities and Reception

The querent is Lord 1, Mercury, at 23° Capricorn 40′ in House 9 and the Moon at 19° Aquarius 22′ in House 10.

As the exams are above elementary level, they are represented by Lord 9, Saturn at 21° Aquarius 53′, sitting on the cusp of House 11.

Unsurprisingly, the querent is very focussed on the exams, with both their significators in Saturn’s dignities and Mercury just inside the 9th cusp. As well as the exam itself, Lord 9 represents the querent’s knowledge which, in its own dignity, is good. As Saturn sits well above the horizon we have a good indication the querent will be able to display their knowledge to the examiner.

The only significant negatives are that the querent’s two significators are peregrine – in no dignities of their own. This implies that they might not be the best student, and that they are getting distracted from their studies (a peregrine planet being a ‘wanderer’). Mercury is in the Moon’s detriment, suggesting the querent is worried and this is bringing them down.

Aspects

There is no real need to judge aspects, as the question assumes the exams will be completed. However, the Moon applies to conjunct Saturn in 2° 34′. The exam is due to be sat in 9-10 weeks from the date of the chart, which fits.

Verdict

All signs point to success, providing the querent doesn’t become too distracted.

Result

The querent was successful in their exams, achieving the highest grades in four exams, the second highest in three and the third highest grade in only one – their only minor disappointment.
