Weather is one of the simplest facets of horary astrology, and is essentially purely descriptive – no need for aspects to apply, complex relationships between significators or much more than the analysis of one planet.
Lughnasadh is a pagan religious festival, celebrating the beginning of the harvest festival, one of the cardinal points of the year. As such, there’s a certain expectation of pleasant weather, but early in the day it was cloudy, with a decent chance of rain. For simple convenience, I decided to find out if we’d need to worry about waterproof clothing.
Significators
Lughnasadh, a religious festival, is represented by House 9, here in Leo (♌︎), meaning that the festival itself is signified by the Sun (☉). This is the only significator we need to judge the weather, really.
Judgment
The Sun sits in Leo, a fixed fire sign. This tells us there will be constant (fixed) heat (fire), though with a relatively close conjunction to Mercury (☿), the natural significator of wind and air, a changeable breeze might be expected.
Verdict
It will be hot and dry, and likely a little breezy.
Result
Lughnasadh was indeed hot and dry throughout, with a little breeze to cool things off.
